A Typical Day in Falcon Class
Our day in Falcon Class is full of fun, learning, and opportunities to grow!
Morning Start We begin with exciting fine motor activities to get our hands and minds ready for learning. Children enjoy cutting activities, disco dough, and STEM Lego building. Some of our learners then join their mainstream buddy class in the main school.
Phonics & Movement Back in class, we dive into Phonics learning, followed by disco dough and energizing brain breaks to keep everyone focused and happy.
English & Reading After a short break, we explore English through engaging lessons, group reading, and one-to-one reading sessions. Then it’s time for our social snack an opportunity to practice communication and enjoy a healthy treat.
Good Learning Time Next comes one of our favourite parts of the day: Good Learning Time! We play group social games and have plenty of chances to learn through play, both indoors and outdoors.
Lunch & Life Skills At lunchtime, we practice important life skills like using cutlery and making healthy choices. After lunch play, we return to the classroom refreshed and ready for more learning.
Afternoon Adventures Our afternoons are packed with exciting activities across the curriculum - Science, History, Geography, Maths, and more! After another short break, we enjoy another Good Learning Time, focusing on play-based learning and working on individual targets, including speech and language development. Some of our learners join their mainstream buddy class in the main school for their afternoon learning.
Home Time To end our busy day, we get ready for home and gather for a story before saying goodbye and meeting our adults.
A Typical Day in Red Kites Class
Our day in Red Kites Class is always fun, educational and exciting!
When the children arrive in the morning, we always start with singing our favourite learning songs; we currently love to sing The Habitats Song, The Days of the Week Song and The Vertebrates Song!
Singing Time is then followed by our Phonics session. We always sing our Alphabet at the start of the session and then practise all of our different sounds and words! The children write their focus words on their mini whiteboards throughout the session and then we finish with The Sound Blender Song!
After a short play time outside, we come back in for some writing time and then our Super Movers time; we love doing the Spelling Bee Song and The Mole Song! Following this, it's then time for our social snack an opportunity to practice communication and enjoy a healthy treat.
After social snack, we start our Guided Reading and Maths sessions! We all sit on the carpet and read through our story together! The children love that the book is on the big interactive whiteboard so they can see all the amazing pictures super clearly!
